Inside our braid class: mimosas, mannequins and step-by-step braids
By Sallese & Company · 3 min read

Quick answer
Sallese & Company, a hair salon in downtown Kenosha, hosts hands-on braid classes led by founder Chelsea Sallese. Every guest practices on her own mannequin head with a printed step-by-step guide to the French braid, with mimosas on the table and a Sallese & Co. bag at every seat. Our most recent class was held right here at the salon.
The best way to learn a braid is with your hands in the hair. At our braid class, Chelsea took a table full of guests from their first section to a finished braid, one step at a time.
How the class works
Every seat is set with a practice mannequin head, a comb, elastics and a printed guide to the French braid. Chelsea demonstrates each step for the whole table, then works her way around the room to help each guest one-on-one.

What you’ll learn
The class is built around the French braid, with the printed guide at your seat to follow along. By the end, guests had finished braids on their mannequins.

Mimosas and good company
It’s as much a fun outing as a lesson. Guests sipped mimosas and swapped tips around one long table. It’s our motto, community over competition, in a room full of braids.
